Sheesham Wood certification
Sheesham is a very durable and dense hardwood with a beautiful grain and rich colours.
Sheesham wood is also referred to as Indian rosewood. A cross section of the tree reveals a stunning variation in colours with swirls of dark brown and yellow streaks. The Sheesham wood has a dense and straight grain.
It is produced from the Dalbergia Sissoo tree and is so hard that it has a higher Janka rating than Mango wood. The Janka rating is an indicator of the hardness of the wood. Nevertheless, most woodworkers will tell you that it is pliable. Once dried and transformed into lumber, the boards tend to be resilient and offer a great degree of flexibility.
Sheesham wood is less susceptible to fungus, decay and insect infestation than most other woods.
Due to its rarity, the export of Sheesham wood from Indai is strictly regulated. All companies manufacturing and exporting articles made of Sheesham wood must obtain a special certificate.
De-Mohanco has obtained the necessary certification to manufacture and to export goods manufactured with Sheesham wood.
